COACHING · ON THE WATER

Anubis Kite is a kitesurfing school and a Red Sea expedition operator, working the same stretch of Egyptian coast from Hurghada up to El Gouna and out to the islands beyond it.

The wind decides the day. The forecast is read before anyone rigs, and the session moves to whichever water is working — a sheltered lagoon, a sandbar flat, an open-water crossing.

Everything else — the gear, the boat, the rescue cover, the food — exists so the only thing left to think about is the next session.

  1. SMALL NUMBERS

    Two riders to an instructor, never more. Coaching only works when somebody is actually watching you.

  2. SAFETY IS THE SESSION

    A rescue boat and a trained spotter on station for every open-water session, radio between water, boat and beach, and a quick-release drill before anyone launches.

  3. THE FORECAST DECIDES

    Wind and current are reviewed every morning and each spot is validated against them. The plan follows the water, not a printed schedule.

  4. PAST THE CROWD

    The best flat water in the Red Sea sits behind sandbars that only a boat can reach. That is where the day goes.

03 — THE WATER WE RIDE

THE RED SEADOES MOST OF THE WORK

The thermal window runs roughly from April through October, with consistent side-onshore wind through the afternoon. Spring and autumn are the most reliable; winter brings cleaner but slightly lighter air.

El Gouna's lagoons are shallow, protected and glassy — the reason beginners get a real first day here. Everything past them is island water, reachable only by boat and mostly empty.

04 — HOW A SESSION RUNS

Whether it is a three-hour board-skills block in El Gouna or day four of a safari, the shape of the session does not change.

    BRIEF

    The day's spot, the wind window, and the depower and quick-release protocol — covered before anyone touches a kite.

  2. 02

    RIG

    Full premium kit — kite, board, bar, lines, harness and helmet — with sizes swapped on site to match the day's wind.

  3. 03

    RIDE

    Semi-private coaching with radio contact to the beach and a safety boat and spotter on station.

  4. 04

    DEBRIEF

    Filmed and reviewed afterwards, so the correction is something you can see rather than something you are told.

05 — THE PEOPLE ON THE WATER

IT IS NEVER JUST YOU AND THE KITE

Every session has more people behind it than in front of it: an IKO-certified instructor, a trained spotter, a rescue-boat driver. On safari, add a captain, a crew and a chef who keeps the galley running from sunrise coffee to the anchor going down at sunset.

Riders arrive at every level — a first water start, a first upwind run, a first big air — and the beach sorts itself out from there.

We don't publish a team page. You'll meet them on the beach.
